These are suitable to be used as a sacrificial harness to prevent damage from oil migration to the main engine harness and/or to the ECU. Prevent costly repairs of $10,000 to $15,000 from oil ingress damage. Utilizes genuine Mercedes-Benz-style three and two pin automotive grade waterproof connectors and high quality gauge wires.

“Sacrificial harnesses” should be inspected every 10,000 miles and replaced as required due to oil ingress or failure. Connectors may be reused if not faulty and should be cleansed using cleaners compatible with plastics and formulated for use on vehicle electronics and electrical systems.

Front camshaft electromagnets (A 276 156 07 90) and top camshaft position sensors (A 276 905 10 00) should be inspected and replaced once connectors are contaminated with oil. Replacing the leaking sensors will prolong the life of the sacrificial harnesses. Sacrificial harnesses can be reused if oil contamination remains superficial and not causing engine trouble codes or engine trouble symptoms.

Harnesses are designed to be sacrificial to protect from a more extensive and more expensive repair. Due to the sensor’s design breakdown of the sensors are inevitable causing oil contamination to occur.
